While investigation is ongoing in lung diseases and several deaths associated with vaping, U.S Food and Drug Administration has cautioned customers to stay away from THC vaping products. On October 4, 2019, Dr. Ned Sharpless, the acting Commissioner of FDA stated that sudden outbreak of the lung diseases and deaths due to vaping products has taken significance over collecting useful data and give the consumers news which would make them stay away from vaping and keep themselves safe. Sharpless also said that his team has been attempting at spreading a strong message among public. Consumers would be requested to stop using vaping devices which has tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. THC is the main psychoactive element present in cannabis.
People who had been affected had filed reports complaining about THC containing items. Sharpless said that consumers should be aware before mixing anything in order to enhance the vaping items like THC. In fact, they should not be buying items that has THC content or dangerous oil illegally from streets or via secret channels. It is being doubted that THC items are the root cause behind the sickness.
People who would still use vaping products with THC content should check themselves for possible signs of any disease and instantly opt for medical help if anything goes wrong.
